Dear GMFCU Member,
The health and safety of our members and employees are a top priority at Great Meadow Federal Credit Union. Members have a lot of concerns over the COVID-19 Coronavirus. We continue to monitor information from the Centers for Disease Control opens in a new window (CDC) and other health agencies to guarantee we follow recommendations and take appropriate precautions. The current environment rapidly changing and evolving. It is important that we understand that we are having a global health crisis and that the current economic challenges are a symptom.
As we continue to see the impact of COVID-19 globally and in our local community we want to assure you that we are taking steps to protect our members and staff. Our team has been working to put plans in place to navigate this situation that allow us to continue serving our members while doing our part in stopping the spread of this pandemic.
For the safety and health of our members and employees effective Monday, March 23, all GMFCU branch locations will transition to drive-thru only. This is being done to ensure we are doing our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19. In doing so, our Queensbury Branch will temporarily close, as it has no drive through. With the temporary suspension of our Queensbury operations, we will be able to increase our capacity to serve you at the drive-thru at our three other locations, as well as answer your calls. We invite our members who prefer to bank in Queensbury to visit our drive-thru at the Fort Edward branch at 348 Broadway.
To help offset the lack of lobby access, GMFCU is:
- Extending our Drive Thru operational hours at our Granville, Fort Edward and Comstock locations: Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am -1:00 pm.
- Granville and Fort Edward branches now have enhanced ATM’s which can handle many of your transactions including deposits and withdrawals.
- Loan officers will be available by telephone, and will be able to send e-signature documents for closings as well as work with those whose payments maybe impacted by the current environment.
We ask that you verify that your email address is up to date so that we can keep you informed. We will also post updates to the GMFCU website, and on our social media channels:

What GMFCU is Doing
We continue to monitor all guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) opens in a new window and our regulator/insurer the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Our branches continue to be open to our members to serve them and their needs.
Each branch has been equipped with hand sanitizer, as well as sanitizing wipes and sprays to be used by staff for desks, lobby areas and drive through equipment. The staff has been notified to clean desks and workstations throughout the day, in addition to our normal cleaning and janitorial services.
We are encouraging our members to use all our mobile/digital banking tools to limit potential exposure to yourselves and our employees. As well, we have set up numbers for text inquires for each of our branches.
Here are the text numbers for each branch you may use to contact our Member Service Staff:
If you are unable to work due in any way to COVID-19, please contact our staff to discuss a loan extension or modification.
GMFCU is committed to servicing you and your family’s financial needs. We are here to provide you the products and services you have always expected from us and we hope you stay safe and healthy during this time.
