Coronavirus Update

Updated 5.25.21

In keeping with the most recent CDC and NYS guidelines, effective May 25, 2021, we have changed our lobby policies.

GMFCU members who are fully vaccinated may conduct business without a mask in any of our branch locations.  We are asking those who are unvaccinated to please continue wearing a mask when entering and while inside our lobbies.  Our staff will follow this guidance as well.  All members who wish to still wear a mask in our branches are encouraged to do so.

GMFCU will still be encouraging social distancing in our lobbies.  Please use the signage and floor stickers in each branch location for guidance.  We will also continue with our current cleaning and disinfecting routines, as well as keeping hand sanitizing stations available.

Updated 8.14.20

To keep our members notified, we wanted to share our reopening schedule and protocol.

We are taking measures to keep our members and our staff safe. These include social distancing practices and sanitization to ensure the safest possible in-person experience.

Here’s what you should know:

  • Our branches began reopening in phases on July 20, 2020.

  • We are conducting hourly cleanings throughout the branches, as well as in the drive-up and lobby areas.

  • Before and after a member visits the desk area, we are cleaning and disinfecting chairs, pens, and any other items that the member came into contact with.

  • All branches are equipped with hand sanitizing stations for employee and member use.

Thank you for bearing with us during this exceedingly strange time. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Updated 6.08.20

Starting on June 15th, all GMFCU branch lobbies will open for scheduled appointments only.

All of our branches will open at this time, and we will resume normal hour of operation. Our Queensbury Branch will re-open as appointment only on June 15th. All other branches will have drive up access, as well as branch appointment availability.

Updated 3.20.20

Dear GMFCU Member,

The health and safety of our members and employees are a top priority at Great Meadow Federal Credit Union. Members have a lot of concerns over the COVID-19 Coronavirus. We continue to monitor information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other health agencies to guarantee we follow recommendations and take appropriate precautions. The current environment rapidly changing and evolving. It is important that we understand that we are having a global health crisis and that the current economic challenges are a symptom.

As we continue to see the impact of COVID-19 globally and in our local community we want to assure you that we are taking steps to protect our members and staff. Our team has been working to put plans in place to navigate this situation that allow us to continue serving our members while doing our part in stopping the spread of this pandemic.

For the safety and health of our members and employees effective Monday, March 23, all GMFCU branch locations will transition to drive-thru only. This is being done to ensure we are doing our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19. In doing so, our Queensbury Branch will temporarily close, as it has no drive through. With the temporary suspension of our Queensbury operations, we will be able to increase our capacity to serve you at the drive-thru at our three other locations, as well as answer your calls. We invite our members who prefer to bank in Queensbury to visit our drive-thru at the Fort Edward branch at 348 Broadway.

To help offset the lack of lobby access, GMFCU is:

  • Extending our Drive Thru operational hours at our Granville, Fort Edward and Comstock locations: Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am -1:00 pm.
  • Granville and Fort Edward branches now have enhanced ATM’s which can handle many of your transactions including deposits and withdrawals.
  • Loan officers will be available by telephone, and will be able to send e-signature documents for closings as well as work with those whose payments maybe impacted by the current environment.

Stay Up-to-Date

We ask that you verify that your email address is up to date so that we can keep you informed. We will also post updates to the GMFCU website, and on our social media channels:

Beware of Scams

Look out for suspicious emails and text messages, medical supply scams, and fraudulent donation sites that may impersonate a company, charity, or government agency. The intent is to convince you to share sensitive information such as usernames and passwords, make purchases or donations on spoof websites, or download malware onto your device by opening a malicious attachment. If you receive a suspicious email or text message, don’t respond, click on any links, or open attachments. Verify the authenticity of any website before making a purchase or donation.
