The Member Service Representative (MSR) will assist in leading and growing the Credit Union through the addition of new members and the expansion of existing member relationships, attaining sales goals, and developing and maintaining quality member service.   

Key responsibilities include responding to members’ and potential members’ financial needs and inquiries and delivering solutions; developing and maintaining an extensive knowledge of all Great Meadow services, as well as those services offered by other types of financial institutions; developing a working knowledge of the credit union's data processing system; representing the credit union in a courteous, professional and positive manner and appearance; opening new accounts for members and building the overall member relationship in a professional manner; cross-selling appropriate products and services; accepting and approving applications, retrieving proper documentation and completing tasks in a timely manner; refering loan applications to the lending department; processing member transactions; completing paperwork for wire transfers; counseling members regarding their finances; setting up member access for all credit union technology member products and educating members on how to use them; maintaining thorough understanding of credit union policy, practices and procedures; working with the Marketing Department to assist with promotions regarding public relations, credit union membership and Business Development opportunities; receiving requested payoffs, contacting members to discuss reasons for moving accounts and advising members of benefits of keeping accounts with credit union and processing as requested; opening, closing and maintaining Individual Retirement Accounts; disbursing monthly/yearly IRA checks as applicable; opening and closing branch as needed; functioning in a back-up roles as needed; and maintaining member confidentiality at all times.


The successful candidate must have an associate’s degree from an accredited college/university, or a High School diploma or GED with relevant work experience; have a proven sales and customer/member service track record; be able to effectively communicate at all professional levels including top executives, members, staff, and in front of large groups; have strong verbal and written communication skills; be computer literate and skilled in Microsoft and Google products; be able to work independently and in a team environment; be able to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment; have strong organizational and planning skills; be willing to travel outside the credit union on occasion, sometimes requiring an overnight stay; be detail oriented and able to work effectively with numerous interruptions; take initiative and be selfmotivated while consistently maintaining a positive attitude; ability to work well within a team in a fastpaced, rapidly evolving environment; have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; and be able to exercise confidentiality at all times.
