The Financial Services Officer demonstrates awareness of member expectations and strives to fulfill and exceed those expectations through member service. Establishes, retains and deepens relationships with members and potential members. Acts as a member consultant in regard to financial services, loan offerings, deposit accounts, problem resolution, financial education, and referrals. Performs a broad level of operational duties in branch. Supports Great Meadow’s distinctive culture and growth goals.

Job Specific Responsibilities

- Represent the CU in a courteous, professional and positive manner and appearance 
- All general knowledge and responsibilities of teller duties
- Answer all calls promptly and pleasantly. Give efficient, accurate service with attention to detail in the processing of all transactions including but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers between accounts, stop payments, wires, check orders, payroll changes, direct deposit, address changes, home equity advances, Visa Credit Card payments, and other account maintenance
- Respond to members’ and potential members’ financial needs/inquiries, and resolve members’ problems
- Open new accounts for members and build the overall member relationship in a professional manner; Cross-sell appropriate products and services
- Meet sales referral goals as required
- Resolve issues regarding debit and credit cards, home/mobile banking lockouts, CardNav, Bill Pay and RDC 
- Balance work daily 
- Research and resolve member inquiries by providing accurate information regarding GMFCU accounts, services, rates, products, policies, procedures, history, and philosophy. Develop and maintain member relationships 
- Maintain thorough understanding of CU lending policy, practices and procedures
- Develop a working knowledge of the CU's data processing system
- Complete loan interviews, accept and approve applications, retrieve proper loan documentation and complete final loan closings in a timely manner 
- Submit loan applications to approving officer for loans in excess of assigned approval authority
- Approve credit card applications, process credit card payments and cash advances 
- Complete paperwork for wire and ACH transfers 
- Set up member access for Home Banking & audio response system and educate members on how to use them, as well as Bill Pay; CardNav and Remote Deposit Capture
- Maintain thorough understanding of CU lending policy, practices and procedures
- Work with the Management to assist with promotions regarding public relations, CU membership and Business Development opportunities 
- Receive requested payoffs, contact members to discuss reasons for moving loans, and advise members of benefits of keeping loans with Credit Union and process as requested 
- Open and closing branch as needed
- Perform duties in compliance with applicable statutes and regulations
- Maintain member confidentiality at all times
- Work rotating Saturday schedule
- Other duties as needed.
