HistoryThe Great Meadow Federal Credit Union was established in 1956 with a charter to service the employees of the Great Meadow Correctional Facility and members of their immediate families. In 1985 employees of the Department of Social Services of Washington County were included in the field of membership, and in 2000 expanded to include any employee of Washington County. In 2000, the membership base was also expanded to include employees at Washington Correctional Facility, employees of the Village of Granville, and employees of C. Roberts, Inc. The employees of the Village of Fort Edward were added as a membership group union in 2004. In 2009, the employees of the Granville United States Post Office were added as a select employee group. Manchester News, Inc. a leading publisher of Northern New York and Western Vermont weekly newspapers was added to our SEG groups in 2010. GMFCU added The Orchard Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre, and The Town of Whitehall, SkeneValley and M Shaw Insurance Agencies, and Indian River Rehabilitation and Nursing Center to our select employee groups as well in 2010. |
