Great Meadow Federal Credit Union was established in 1956 to serve the working population of Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Comstock, New York. With its small select employee group (SEG) start GMFCU has slowly grown over the past 54 years. Its small SEG roots it has allowed the credit union to have a unique strength, its rapport with its members. This unique bond has helped create a great membership base and employee group that has an exceptional loyalty to each other.

Years of adept management, conservative growth, wise investments, and a low default rate on loans has put GMFCU in a very strong, stable financial condition.
